The most common police misconduct includes but is not limited to :

  • Use of excessive force.

  • Tampering with evidence.

  • Police brutality.

  • Mishandling evidence.

  • Coerced confessions.

  • Sexual assault.

  • Lying on police reports.

  • False imprisonment or arrest.

Witnessing or being a victim of misconduct is sadly too common. It is important you understand your rights and what triggers probable cause for police to interact with you or another individual. The most common rights violated by police include but are not limited to:

  • 1st amendment (protections: to express ideas through speech and the press, to assemble or gather with a group to protest)

  • 2nd amendment (right to keep and bear arms.)

  • 4th amendment (unreasonable search and seizure of an individual or their private property.)
